A family was left shattered after two brothers died while trying to save a young boy.
The two brothers of Idaho, drowned in a river while trying to rescue the 8-year-old boy, who fell into the lake in Elmore County.
The incident began when 3-year-old Jose Barroso-Alfaro, was out fishing with his 8-year-old son and his 25-year-old brother Martin.
The 8-year-old boy fell into the Snake River, which is known by locals as having a strong undercurrent.
Jose jumped into the water in an attempt to save the child. Unfortunately, he was dragged into the water. His brother Martin, then jumped in to try to save them, but he was also dragged underwater.
Bystander Michael Felmeier, 23, jumped into the river and was able to grab and pull the child to safety. Luckily, the boy was still alive.
Several rescue teams were brought in to search for the two brothers. Their bodies were located by the Ada County Dive Team. The two men were pronounced dead at the scene.
