A boy was punched in the head after a fight broke out over a cupcake, police in the United Kingdom said.
The boy of Nottinghamshire, was hospitalized with head injuries after the violent altercation with a fellow student.
The boy, who is in the eighth grade, was assaulted by the other student while carrying two cupcakes away from the school canteen. The boy tried to snatch away the cupcakes from the victim.
The incident occurred at the Meden School. A witness said that the victim was dragged on the ground, kicked and punched. The boy was rushed to King’s Mill Hospital in Mansfield, with a head injury.
The school launched an investigation. So far, no arrests have been made and the school took no disciplinary action.
