(Scroll down for video) Police now have a new tool to keep streets safer.

Police in Connecticut, have specifically trained dogs to sniff out hidden child pornography.

Police explained that their golden Labradors can now smell hidden hard disk drives, USB drives and memory cards, which may contain child pornography.

These trained dogs cannot smell what type of data is being stored, but if someone goes to great lengths to hide an electronic device in a ceiling tile, shoes or metal cabinets, then its more likely that they will find something illegal on it.

While officers execute a search warrant the dog helps them locate these hidden devices that may contain child pornography, which officers would have otherwise missed.
