(Scroll down for video) A woman earned a living from breaking into foreclosed homes and renting it out to unsuspecting people.
When she was caught, the woman pleaded guilty to the charges, but never showed up for sentencing.
Shannon Lee of Maryland, tried to save herself for missing her court date by giving the court a doctor note as proof that she was sick on the day she was to be sentenced and therefore was unable to come to court.
However, she was unable to defraud the court. Prince George County prosecutors immediately realized that the doctor note was fake.
“The doctor who was listed on the document, had not practiced at the hospital for more than two years,” State Attorney spokesman John Erzen said.
The discharge papers were also wrong, according to Erzen. Court documents show Lee listed a UPS store in Clinton, as his address in these medical documents.
Now, she may face additional charges.
