(Scroll down for video) A teen who visited the Auschwitz death camp, is under fire for taking a smiling selfie.
Breanna Mitchell of Alabama, posted a smiling selfie on her Twitter account, which instantly went viral.
The image garnered more than 3,300 retweets and a barrage of angry comments.
In response to the angry comments, Mitchell said that she took the photo in memory of her late father after visiting the site on the anniversary of his death.
She said that they used to read about the Holocaust together, but died before they had a chance to visit Auschwitz. “That trip really meant something to me and I was happy about it,” she wrote on Twitter.
In the image, viewers can see the sites of Auschwitz, which was the largest concentration camp, claiming the lives of more than 1,100,000 million men, women and children.
