A Williamsburg area man was seriously injured after a tree fell on his head, rescue workers in New York said.
The Brooklyn division of the FDNY, said that the tree fell and hit the pedestrian in the head while walking on near Broadway on Tuesday afternoon.
He was taken by ambulance to Brookdale Hospital with head trauma. He is said to be in serious but stable condition. Several streets were blocked off while crews cleaned up the tree.
Police officers who arrived at the scene launched an investigation. They identified the victim as 43-year-old Wayne Knight.
In May, a man was cutting a tree branch while his family, friends and coworkers watched him in action.
One man has recorded the incident, and the video captured the funny moment the man was being shot down by the branch of a large tree after he cut it off, in an act that some call “revenge.”
Kurt Stepp uploaded the video to the Internet, which has since gone viral. He described the incident as “My coworker cuts a tree and the tree is not very happy about it,” on YouTube.
The man was seen standing on top of a ladder, and he was heard shouting to people on the ground “get out of there, guys, don’t want to hit no one, is everybody good?”
He then proceeded to use a chainsaw on the big branch. As it falls, the branch hit the man, sending him flying off the ladder and crashing to the ground.
A man was heard asking if emergency workers were needed. Despite the fall, Stepp has confirmed that his friend was in good condition.
