Woman handcuffs man trying to steal her car and holds him until police arrives

(Scroll down for video) A brave woman did not allow a would be carjacker to get away.

Toni Jones of Oklahoma, said that she had just finished shopping a the Homeland supermarket on North Harrison Street in Shawnee, and was putting groceries in her car when a man approached her and tried to steal the vehicle.

Jones began screaming for help. Her sister and a witness came to help her as she grabbed a set of handcuffs from her rearview mirror to make a citizen’s arrest.

Jones placed the man in handcuffs and warned him not to move, while others called 911.

The suspect, 34-year-old Daniel Ray Dodson, was arrested for the attempted robbery. He is being held on $25,000 bond.

Jones had some cuts from the struggle with the man as he attempted to push her away from the car. However, Jones fought back until she was able to reach her handcuffs that she had in her car for many years.

Jones said that her stepfather was a sheriff’s deputy in another county for many years.
