(Scroll down for video) A U.S. teen offered to volunteer and help children at an orphanage in Kenya.
However, during his stay, he allegedly molested the vulnerable children.
19-year-old Matthew Lane Durham of Oklahoma, has been charged with traveling to Kenya to participate in indecent acts with children as young as 4 years old.
Durham was arrested in the home of his parents located in Edmond, after he fled Kenya. He fled after he was confronted by locals.
Durham was accused of sexually abusing at least ten children, one of who is HIV positive, according to an FBI criminal complaint.
Durham is facing life behind bars after allegedly admitting to abusing children aged 4 to 10, while working as a volunteer at the Upendo Children’s Home in Nairobi.
The teenager was confronted by the founder of the house after a caretaker became suspicious of Durham’s behavior around children.
When children were questioned, they allegedly described how Durham had been touching them.
According to authorities, Durham admitted to struggling with homosexuality, and to sexually abusing the kids.
