Police are looking to arrest a man on charges of theft after raiding a Victoria’s Secret store and leaving with hundreds of stolen panties, police in Georgia said.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said that the panty thief stole at least 200 pairs from the Victoria’s Secret store located inside the Augusta Mall on Saturday.
A security video showed the man entering the store about 11:45 a.m., and stuffing underwear into a large shopping bag. He left without paying for the merchandise valued at $1,900.
Authorities are investigating the crime, but so far, no arrests have been made. In June, a man was arrested on charges of theft after allegedly stealing bras and women’s underpants from clothing lines, police in Italy said.
The Bra Police Department said that the suspect was placed under house arrest for stealing the bras and underpants from washing lines in the city. The alleged thief was arrested after taking bras and panties that were left to dry on lines and balconies. The 28-year-old suspect stole the clothes during at night.
When police searched the suspect’s home they found a full house of women’s underwear. Police said that the suspect has a criminal history.
His former girlfriend filed a harassment complaint against him.
