(Scroll down for video) A terrorist loaded with explosives was arrested moments before detonating a bomb in the ultra-Orthodox Jewish city of Beitar Illit, the Tazpit News Agency reported.
The car bomb was driven by a Muslim terrorist.
An initial investigation indicated that a massive terror attack was thwarted. The Muslim driver approached the checkpoint at a suspicious pace, alerting the soldiers manning the checkpoint.
The soldiers ordered him to stop. After approaching him they noticed he was wearing a wig. The driver was asked to turn off his car, but did not heed their order.
A Border Police Officer approached the car and tried to turn off the car himself. When his body was half way in the car the driver started to drive.
The Border Police Officer drew his weapon and forced the terrorist to stop the car.
The terrorist was arrested, and after searching the car the soldiers found that the vehicle contained a powerful explosive device, including a gas balloon.
It was successfully neutralized, and the terrorist was turned over to the Israel Security Agency for further questioning.
