(Scroll down for video) A police officer was arrested after impregnating a 13-year-old girl, according to police in Louisiana.
Baldwin Police Chief Gerald Minor, said that family of the 13-year-old girl suspected that 39-year-old Joseph Brent, was the father of their daughter’s baby.
Authorities waited until the baby was born before arresting the the police officer. When a DNA test proved that the officer was the father of the teen’s baby, he was arrested.
Brent was out on the road doing his job when he was arrested. The 13-year-old girl reportedly lived with Brent when he had sex and impregnate her.
Brent was booked in the Saint Mary Parish jail on charges of molestation of a juvenile, malfeasance in office, sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. His bond was set at $50,000.
Brent had already been under investigation for nearly a year. The Baldwin Police Department investigated him on allegations of distributing narcotics. However, they were unable to catch him in the act.
On at least three occasions, the police department called in officers from other districts to contact Brent in order to buy drugs from him, but all attempts were unsuccessful.
