Two Flatbush shooters are behind bars after police pulled over their vehicle for driving with a broken taillight, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that the two suspects were caught half an hour after the shooting.
34-year-old Yasser Julio, allegedly shot a man on Albemarle Road near Ocean Avenue at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. He fled from the scene in a 2009 Mercedes-Benz.
Police in an unmarked vehicle noticed that their light is broken near Brooklyn Avenue and Winthrop Street.
Police also noticed a knife in the car when 26-year-old Bianca Blackford, took her identification card out of the car’s glove compartment.
When police searched the vehicle they found a loaded .38 caliber revolver with a spent bullet on the floor. A plastic bag of what is believed to be crack cocaine was recovered as well.
Blackford and Julio were charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. The 23-year-old shooting victim was said to be in stable condition at Kings County Hospital.
