(Scroll down for video) Hundreds of TD Bank customers were surprised to see that ATMs were giving them free stuff, according to a video uploaded to the Internet.
In an effort to thank its customers, TD Canada Trust went above and beyond offering free coffee and biscuits.
The bank deployed “Automated Thanking Machines” to branches across Canada, giving lucky customers some amazing gifts.
A video of customer reactions to the gifts was uploaded to YouTube, and it has since gone viral, receiving nearly seven million views.
A single mother who had been unable to take her children on vacation, was given a trip to Disneyland. An old woman received tickets to Trinidad, so she could visit her daughter, who is battling cancer.
A Toronto Blue Jays fan was offered the opportunity to throw the first pitch of a game.
“We wanted to thank our customers in a way that we thought was unique and distinctive,” Chris Stamper, SVP corporate marketing at TD Canada Trust, said.
The ATMs are part of the #TDThanksYou campaign.
In addition to the machines, TD Canada Trust had more than 20,000 employees give away green envelopes containing $20 to each customer in more than 1,100 bank branches across Canada.
Customers using the telephone and online banking were given a direct deposit of $20.
