(Scroll down for video) Police and emergency workers in New Jersey, responded to calls of a baby who was left in a hot car.

Medics broke the window of the SUV in Hoboken, in an attempt to save the baby who was locked inside the hot vehicle.

However, they soon realized that the joke was on them, as the baby was just a life-size plastic doll. Police said that several witnesses called 911 to report a baby trapped inside a Honda CRV on Jackson Street.

When the car owner, Luz Kitty Mieles, returned to her car she found broken glass and apologies from the emergency workers who broke her window.

Officers promised that the city will pay for the damaged window. Mieles said that her 2-year-old granddaughter left the doll in a child safety seat.
