The Montreal Jewish community is concerned after thieves stole several shtreimels and Hasidic Shabbat clothes, bill613.com reported.
Jewish community leaders in Montreal, Canada, are asking members to be on the lookout for two non-Jews dressed as Hasidim.
On Friday night, a family of five people including a baby, were sleeping at home in Outremont, when thieves entered the house and made off with the traditional Hasidic attire.
The thieves did not touch other valuables and nobody was injured. Police are searching for the suspects, but so far, no arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, Hasidim fear that the thieves may carry out a terror attack on Shabbat, when Hasidic men were shtreimels and long black coats.
Rabbis in Montreal, ruled that if someone sees a suspicious person wearing Hasidic garb they should immediately call police and not fear about desecrating the Sabbath.
