The incident took place at a Dollar Tree store in Longmont, Colorado.

43-year-old Shannon Dominguez, and her boyfriend, were trying to save the life of the young child, who was left in the hot car, but when the police arrived, the good Samaritans needed an ambulance.

When 27-year-old Kristina Riddell, the mother of the boy in the car, overheard Dominguez calling 911 and she ran over.

Dominguez and her boyfriend Alan Mason, said that Riddell ran over them with her white Honda just after 1:30 p.m.

Now, Dominguez is confined to a wheelchair, and doctors said that she may never walk the same again. Dominguez said that she and her boyfriend, used to be very active and now, everyday chores are a challenge.

However, she does not regret saving the life of the young boy. “All four windows were closed. It was in direct sunlight. An innocent child could have died,” said Dominguez.

Police soon arrested Riddell at her home in Longmont, and she was charged with hit-and-run, assault and child abuse.
