(Scroll down for video) A man of California, is dead after good Samaritans called police to help him.

LAPD officers responded to a call about a man without clothes walking through the streets in downtown Los Angeles.

However, while officers were looking for the man, they accidentally drove over him. He later died

The unidentified man was run over by a police cruiser. Authorities said that the officers did not realize that the man was on the floor until it was too late.

It began at about 10:00 p.m., when police received reports of a Caucasian man, without clothes, apparently in his late 50s or early 60s, walking down the neighborhood of Jefferson Park.

As the two officers were responding to the scene, the man wandered further east and he decided to lay down in the middle of an intersection.

The officers did not see him until the cruiser had passed over his body. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the incident.
