A man was stabbed in the head after wind knocked over a knife from a balcony, rescue workers in China said.
57-year-old Yunzhi Xiao, was walking on a street in Guangyuan, China, when the knife fell from the balcony of the eighth floor.
The incident unfolded as Xiao was heading to a supermarket when he suddenly felt a heavy weight on his head. It hurt a lot, he said after surgery.
“My head hurt, but I did not know what happened,” he added. Xiao managed to walk a while longer before the pain became extreme and was forced to sit in a phone booth.
Passersby called the police, who took him to a hospital. A few hours later, doctors took the knife out of his head. According to the initial police investigation, the knife was used on a balcony when it was knocked over by the wind.
The owner of the knife was questioned by police, and he later visited Xiao in the hospital to apologize and to pay some of his medical bills.
