(Scroll down for video) A mother is in trouble after she helped her son set himself on fire while he was being recorded.
The teen wanted to light himself on fire for a social media challenge, and his mother helped him.
Now, the mother of North Carolina, has been arrested and accused of child neglect for helping her son with the video, in which he was set on fire as part of the “fire challenge” trend on Facebook.
41-year-old Janie Lachelle Talley of Charlotte, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Detectives of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, said that her 16-year-old son poured nail polish on himself and lit himself on fire.
Talley was present at the time and helped with the recording, according to police. Other people who were at the home, put out the fire. The teenager suffered minor burns to his chest and neck.
Someone notified the Department of Social Services about the incident, and the police began investigating the mother.
