A man was arrested on charges of making threats after allegedly threatening to kill a truck driver, who refused to go out on a date, police in Washington said.

The incident unfolded at the Lover’s Truck Stop on Sunday, in Fife.

According to the indictment filed in the Superior Court of Pierce County, Fife Police were called to the truck stop located in the 1500 block of 33rd Avenue East, on reports of a man throwing things and bothering truck drivers.

One victim complained that 47-year-old Robert Truelove, had asked him out on a date.

When the victim refused his offer, Truelove became angry, removed his shirt, grabbed a large piece of metal and approached the victim while threatening to kill him.

The victim told officers that he ran into his truck and locked himself inside to avoid being attacked by Truelove. Officers found and arrested Truelove.

He denied the allegations. Truelove has been charged with felony assault and harassment, and was ordered to stay away from the truck stop.
