(Scroll down for video) Police in Mexico, are investigating a tow truck company after allegedly towing away an ambulance responding to the scene of a deadly accident.
The tow truck driver of Mexico City, hooked the ambulance to his truck because it was blocking the road.
“We were told that we had to be towed and fined if we do not move, but we had a seriously injured patient in the back that needed to be stabilized before we could drive to the hospital,” paramedic Yulan Esparza said.
The driver of the two truck backed off when an angry crowd gathered and began to threaten him.
In a YouTube video of the incident, the driver of the tow truck can be seen trying to explain his actions before moving away from the angry crowd.
The patient, 42-year-old Arturo Robles Hernandez, died of his injuries at a hospital.
A female passenger in the car, 47-year-old Elizabeth Castellanos Gonzalez, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said that the driver of the tow truck may face murder charges for interfering with treatment that could have saved the life of the man.
