(Scroll down for video) A family is speaking out after they were being threatened over photos they posted to Facebook.

Grandma Jackie Sheaks of Ohio, was very surprised when photos she posted to Facebook sparked outrage.

While she thought that the photos of her 2-month-old granddaughter were adorable others were horrified.

One photo shows the child with tape across her face to hold a pacifier in place. Another photo shows the baby resting in a large pot with some potatoes.

The grandmother explained that the tape was on the baby’s face only for the short time that she took the photo.

“It started as a joke. We put a little tape on the pacifier because we were being silly,” she said.

However, after posting the photos to Facebook, she began receiving hate messages. People called the police, who showed up along with Child Protective Services to check on the baby.

Mrs. Sheaks of Columbus, said that she and her husband Tommy Sheaks, would never hurt their granddaughter.

“We thought it was funny, but other people did not. It will never happen again. It definitely taught us a lesson,” Jackie said.
