A U.S. congressional candidate was stoned by an angry group of Muslims during a trip to Israel, Arutz Sheva 7 reported.
28-year-old Nick Di iorio of New York, who is running for the New York 12th Congressional District, personally experienced the precarious security situation in Israel during his recent visit to the Holy Land.
“We were driving from Sderot, where we visited locals and military officers, to Jerusalem, when we were attacked by a group of Muslim young men. They threw stones at us and laughed,” Di iorio said.
Di iorio was accompanied by philanthropist and chairman of the American Friends of Likud Ken Abramowitz of New York. Luckily, no one was injured in the attack, which took place near Hebron.
In Sderot, Di iorio said that he spoke with the mayor of the southern Israeli city. “I spoke with the mayor of Sderot about the rocket attacks of the past 14 years. He knows that land for peace hasn’t worked,” Di iorio said.
