(Scroll down for video) Dog lovers are very concerned over cruel animal abuse to innocent dogs.

So far, four dogs were victims of the abuse, which occurred over the past four weeks.

Authorities in New Mexico, are desperately looking for the those responsible of pouring acid on random dogs.

The incident began about four weeks ago, when two dogs died after being doused with acid.

Lovington Police said that two more dogs have now fallen victim to the acid attacks. In one case, a family arrived home from vacation to find their dog burned by acid.

A week later, a pit bull was stolen from a yard and doused with acid.

Now, two more dogs fell victim to the criminal act. Detectives said that someone went into a yard and took the two-week-old pit bulls out of their kennel, poured chemicals all over their bodies and left them alone to die.

Lovington Police Detective David Miranda said: “It’s the kind of injury that is literally eating the fur off the dog. It’s eating the skin away.”

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward to help find the perpetrator.
