A man called police after he found a garbage bag stuffed with severed cat heads, police in the United Kingdom said.

Now, the Manchester City Council has requested information, amid fears that the garbage bag full of cat heads was thrown as a racial attack.

The bag of severed cat heads was found in an alley just off Wilmslow Road. Police said that there were four or five cat heads in the bag.

“A member of our clean team was called to an address in Rusholme yesterday, and discovered a fly-tipped black bin liner containing animal remains. This is obviously an incredibly distressing and sickening incident, which we are now looking into, but this is the first incident of its kind we have come across. At this stage, we have no way of knowing how these animal parts came to be where they were discovered, but we will be contacting the RSPCA, as this is clearly an extreme example of animal cruelty,” the Manchester City Council said.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) said: “This sounds like a very disturbing incident, especially for people who found the remains. Thankfully, reports like this are extremely rare and we will contact the local authorities for further investigation.”

Police have launched an investigation, but so far, no arrests have been made. Police said that they are also looking to locate the other parts of the dead cats.
