(Scroll down for video) A large rat attacked a journalist who was recording its movements, at a New York City train station, a video uploaded to the Internet showed.

Josiah Ryan said that at first, the close encounter with the rodent seemed typical.

However, the rat became wild and decided to attack him.

Ryan said that he is still traumatized by the unpleasant encounter that happened at 42nd Street train station in Manhattan.

Ryan, who is a journalist, regularly carries around a camera. He admitted that recording a rat never entered his mind. Fortunately, Ryan suffered no injuries.

“This incident will haunt me for some time. Now, I will be more likely to take a bike and head downtown instead of taking the subway,” Ryan said.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) said that it is still working on the rat problem.

The MTA recently placed chemicals that causes female rats to become sterile, which seems to be working as they see a decline in the rat population in subway stations.
