(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on charges of assault after he was seen punching a Williamsburg area pregnant woman in an unprovoked attack, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that 33-year-old Willie Stevens, was charged on Friday night, with felony assault in connection with the attack on Thursday, against the woman who is six months pregnant.
Stevens fled the scene after hitting 34-year-old Jannatul Ferdous, in the back of the head as she walked on the street with her sister.
The sister called the police and described the attacker. Stevens was captured only a few blocks away from the crime scene. He was charged with assault.
Ferdous lost consciousness and was taken to a hospital for treatment. She and her unborn child were not seriously hurt.
Police believe the attack was part of the “Knockout Game,” which rose in popularity among teens last year.
