A woman and her grandson of the United Kingdom, were horrified to find a crunchy mouse inside their Kellogg’s corn flakes box.
50-year-old Pauline Henderson, bought the box of Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut at a Tesco in Portsmouth, Hants.
As she was pouring cereal into a bowl for her grandson Toby, the mouse dropped into the plate.
Luckily, the woman noticed the mouse among the flakes and stopped the two-year-old boy from eating it. Henderson filed a complaint with Tesco.
Henderson said that she placed the cereal box and the mouse in the freezer so that environmental health officials or representatives of Kellogg’s can take a look at her find.
Tesco said that it was concerned about the incident.
“We have set the highest standards for quality and food safety, and we are concerned about the incident. We would like to thank Henderson for alerting us and we will work with the provider to support their investigation,” a Tesco company spokesperson said.
Kellogg’s offered the woman a free box of cereal, but she declined. Kellogg’s has launched a full investigation.
