(Scroll down for video) The U.N. inadvertently revealed how Hamas used hundreds of residential houses to fire rockets at Israeli civilians, the IDF Blog reported.

Last week, the U.N. published several maps, showing the aftermath of Operation Protective Edge in Gaza.

The maps highlight hundreds of damaged buildings with red dots, but they only tell half of the story. Hamas used many residential buildings – including houses, hospitals and schools – as sites to launch rockets and carry out other attacks against Israeli civilians.

Throughout the operation, the IDF struck hundreds of terror sites in order to stop Hamas’ violence. This means that the red dots on the U.N.’s maps represent more than destruction.

They show the many cases in which terrorists attacked Israel from heavily populated areas in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeatedly said that Hamas is committing double war crimes.

“Hamas hides behind Palestinian civilians to fire rockets at Israeli civilians, a double war crime,” Netanyahu told U.N. Secretary General Ban ki-Moon earlier this month during a trip to Israel.
