A disabled man was severely beaten by his own grandson after a fight broke out over $5 – police in North Carolina said.
Now, the Fayetteville Police Department said that they arrested 18-year-old Michael Allen Jackson.
Jackson was charged with felony assault on a handicapped person and is being held in the Cumberland County Jail on $100,000 bail.
According to the police investigation, Jackson was furious when his grandfather, 63-year-old Glenn Maynor, who lives at 6562 Camden Road, refused to give him money.
Witnesses said that the teen punched Maynor on the chest and face several times, knocking him to the ground. Maynor is terminally ill and has other debilitating health problems.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene, transported the victim to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was treated for multiple facial fractures and a concussion.
