(Scroll down for video) A CEO of a large catering company is in trouble after being caught on video kicking his friend’s dog while riding in an elevator.
Desmond Hague, the CEO of Centerplate, was riding the elevator of an apartment building in Vancouver, Canada, when he abused the dog.
When confronted about the incident he said that it was a personal matter.
On Wednesday, Centerplate said in a statement that Hague will donate $100,000 to the Sade Foundation and serve 1,000 hours of community service at an animal protection agency.
However, Hague still faces possible animal cruelty charges.
“Centerplate does not tolerate animal abuse by its employees,” the company said in a statement. “Mr. Hague has agreed to attend counseling and anger management to address his problems. He has publicly stated that he is deeply ashamed and sorry for his behavior. He has apologized to all those directly involved as well as to customers and employees of the company. He is committed to a meaningful, multi-year financial commitment to help maintain the safety and protection of animals.”
