A groom spent his wedding night in jail after assaulting a hotel employee for closing the bar, prosecutors in the United Kingdom said.
West Yorkshire Police said that 36-year-old Richard Airey pushed James Heseltine through a glass door in a fit of rage when he discovered that the bar was closing.
The incident unfolded at the Mercure Hotel in Bingley. Heseltine suffered cuts on his back just hours after the suspect married Leila Airey.
Heseltine did not need hospital treatment for his injuries. Airey pleaded guilty to common assault.
Airey was fined 50 pounds (1 pound = $1.66) and ordered to pay 85 pounds in prosecution costs as well as 200 pounds in compensation to Heseltine.
Airey was also ordered to seek treatment for alcohol addiction.
