(Scroll down for video) A pit bull is being credited for saving the life of a young boy in Oregon.
The incident began when several children of Oregon City, accidentally stepped on a beehive while walking in the woods.
8-year-old Jesse-Cole Shaver, was with his siblings and other neighborhood children, exploring a stream down a steep embankment behind their apartment complex when one of the kids stepped on a rotten trunk, unleashing the swarm of bees.
The boy’s older sister, Jasmine-Cole, was stung five times. Jasmine-Cole is allergic to bees, but luckily, after receiving two injections her body did not react to the bites.
Meanwhile, Jesse-Cole was stung 24 times. The boy tried to escape up the hill but couldn’t. That is when their pit bull, Hades, came to the rescue.
The dog dragged the boy up the hill until the boy’s mother realized what was happening. The child was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
