(Scroll down for video) A young woman of India, was forced by her village elders to marry a dog believed to have brought a curse on the area residents, a video uploaded to the Internet showed.
18-year-old Mangli Munda of Jharkhand, recently married the stray dog in order to avoid the curse that the village elders feared would cause the death of any man who married her.
The woman’s father, Sri Amnmunda, said that he didn’t want to fear the curse longer than necessary. “The village elders told us to organize the wedding as soon as we possibly can,” he said.
“We had to make sure that the evil spell is destroyed,” he added. At the wedding, Amnmunda dressed up the dog named “Sheru,” and officially made it the groom of his daughter.
A traditional and elaborate Hindu wedding was held, even taking the couple to the ceremony in a limousine. Munda however, said that she is not happy with the marriage, and said that she had no choice.
Munda believes that the wedding is not legally binding and she will be allowed to marry a man whenever she finds Mr. Right.
