The Jewish community in Istanbul, Turkey, was shocked to learn that a mobile phone shop put up a sign that notified Jews to keep out of the store.
The poster, which stated: “The Jew dogs cannot come in here,” featured an image of an Israeli tank.
The store is located in the Tahtakale neighborhood, which is where many Jewish businesses are situated.
Recently, Prime Minister Recep Erdogan compared the actions of Israel to Hitler, and violent protests threatened the Israeli embassy and consulate, prompting the Israel Foreign Ministry to order staff members to stay home.
Erdogan said that the Jewish community in Turkey, was safe and does not need not worry with public sentiments caused by events in Gaza.
