(Scroll down for video) A 14-year-old boy was raped by a much older woman and was now ordered to pay for the child.
When Nick Olivas of Arizona, was just 14 years old he had sex with a 20-year-old woman.
The woman never told him that she got pregnant by him and never informed him that he had a daughter.
However, at 24 years old, the state tracked him down and ordered him to pay child support. He was also ordered to pay $15,000 in back child support despite being a victim of statutory rape.
According to Arizona state law, Olivas was a victim of rape as a child under 15 years- old cannot consent to sex.
However, because Olivas did not press charges and the woman was found not guilty of sexual assault, Olivas is being held responsible for child support.
Olivas said that he was in a state of shock when he learned that he has an 8-year-old daughter.
At first, Olivas tried to ignore the legal documents and did not take a paternity test, which he was ordered to take. However, that did not stop the state from garnishing his wages, $350 a month.
He owes about $15,000 in medical expenses and child support for the baby, plus 10 percent interest for not paying since the baby was born.
Olivas said he wants to be involved in his daughter’s life, and he is willing to pay child support, but he does not want to be financially responsible for back support for the child he did not know existed.
On his Facebook page, Olivas posted photos of his adorable newfound daughter, who looks just like him.
