(Scroll down for video) A police officer in Tennessee, is being investigated for sex crimes against rape victims.
The officer is accused of having inappropriate contact with women, while investigating crimes committed against them or loved ones.
District Attorney General Neal Pinkston, asked the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to open a criminal investigation into Chattanooga police officer Karl Fields, according to a press release from the police department.
Fields has been accused of sending explicit text to the female victim of a rape case he was investigating. He allegedly sent text messages to the woman asking her to send nude photos of herself to him.
He also asked the woman if she would like to join him for sex acts.
In another incident, he was accused of flirting with a married woman while investigating her son’s murder. The woman’s husband asked the officer to stop the inappropriate behavior.
In retaliation, the officer file a harassment complaint against the father.
Fields has been placed on administrative leave, which means he will no longer have a badge or a gun, but he will be working in an administrative role and will still be paid by the department.
