Jeffersonville Police said that they have arrested 33-year-old Joseph Oberhansley, after being accused of fatally stabbing 46-year-old Tammy Jo Blanton and eating her.
The incident began when Blanton called police around 3:00 a.m., to complain that Oberhansley was outside of her house and trying to get in.
Police officers arrived at the scene and sent Oberhansley home. The officers were called back to the house on the 300 block of Locust Street at 10:00 a.m., and found Oberhansley inside.
Police handcuffed the suspect and searched the home. That is when they found Blanton, who was already dead. Oberhansley admitted to eating some of her organs.
He was booked into jail on charges of murder, abuse of a corpse and breaking and entering. Oberhansley was free on parole after serving time in prison for a murder that he committed when he was a teenager.
Oberhansley has spent time in prison for killing 17-year-old Sabrina Elder, after she gave birth to his son.
