Three people were injured after anti-Semitic vandals set fire to a synagogue in an unprovoked attack, police in Belgium said.
Brussels Police said that the synagogue was set on fire Tuesday morning.
One or more persons entered the synagogue, which is located in a Muslim neighborhood, and set several fires.
The three people who were present at the time, the wife and two children of the synagogue’s caretaker, suffered smoke inhalation before firefighters extinguished the flames.
Sixty families are part of the synagogue community, 240 people in all, according to its president. The synagogue was attacked several years ago, when vandals threw a Molotov cocktail at the building.
