2 Palestinians arrested for renting fake Israeli identification cards for 1,500 shekels per month

Two Palestinians of the West Bank, were arrested on charges of possessing a fraudulent instrument after allegedly renting fake Israeli identification cards to Palestinians, who wanted to work in Israel, Israel Police said.

The Eilat Police Department said that they arrested the two suspects following intelligence gathered from illegal immigrants in the city.

At first, police arrested a man, who was allegedly involved in renting the fake ID cards for a monthly fee. During questioning, police were led to the two ring leaders, who produced the false documents.

The two suspects were carrying a large quantity of fake ID cards. The two suspect of Hebron, mainly operated in Eilat. During questioning, the two suspects admitted to the allegations.

According to the police investigation, customers were paying 1,500 shekels ($1 = 3.65 shekels) per month for each ID card. The two suspects will be brought before the Eilat Magistrate’s Court for bail hearings.
