A car full of teens crashed early in the morning, after a boy decided to set the driver’s armpit hair on fire, police in Idaho said.
The five teens were traveling in a Ford Bronco, when the incident unfolded on Sunday.
All five teens were injured. Two passengers, aged 15 and 16, were thrown from the vehicle on impact, but no one was seriously injured.
According to the initial police investigation, a 16-year-old boy was playing around in the front seat and set the underarm hair of 18-year-old Tristian Myers on fire as he was driving.
At first, Myers claimed that he swerved off the road after an animal appeared in front of his vehicle, but then he admitted that he was fooling around with his friends.
The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. in Boise. Myers was charged with inattentive driving, while 16-year-old boy was charged with interfering with driver safety.
A 17-year-old boy, who was also in the front seat, was not charged. Police also said that all five passengers were not wearing seat belts.
