(Scroll down for video) At least two rockets exploded in southern Israel, breaking a 3-week-old ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas terror organization.

The rockets, which were fired from Gaza, hit the Ashkelon area on Thursday.

Earlier this week, a rocket that was fired from Gaza exploded in southern Israel. Hamas said it remains committed to the ceasefire and arrested those behind the rocket attack.

The were no reports of casualties or damages. In total, the Code Red sirens were heard five times over the past 24 hours, local residents reported.

The Israel Defense Forces said that most or all the sirens were false alarms. Last month, Israel made changes to its rocket alert system.

It was set to sound only if a rocket is expected to hit a populated area.
