A teenage girl was hospitalized after suffering head injuries when her boyfriend attempted to kill her.

The 17-year-old girl of Michigan, was upset when his girlfriend broke up with him after he allegedly cheated on her.

18-year-old Adam Shigwadja armed himself with a knife and gasoline when he broke into his former girlfriend’s home.

He waited for her inside her bedroom and doused her with the gasoline when she came home about 10:15 p.m., according to prosecutors.

The victim, Sophia Putney-Wilcox, said that her boyfriend had “the scariest look I’ve seen in my life.” Putney-Wilcox asked him: “Are you planning to kill me?” To which Shigwadja allegedly replied “Oh yeah, I already made this decision. I’m killing you.”

Her brother heard the assault and rushed into the room with a baseball bat. The brother began hitting Shigwadja with the bat until he jumped out of a window.

Sadly, while hitting Shigwadja, the brother accidentally hit his sister over the head with the bat, causing her to need many stitches.

Shigwadja of Kalamazoo, was arrested the next day, and was held without bond after being charged with attempted murder, arson and home invasion.

Earlier, Shigwadja was arrested after holding a knife to Putney-Wilcox’s neck. He was released after posting $10,000 bond.

Putney-Wilcox posted photos of her injuries and she spoke out about her ordeal in hopes of helping other women in abusive relationships.
