(Scroll down for video) A young girl’s parents are angry after their daughter was arrested and charged with assault.
The mother of Georgia, said that she dropped off her 6-year-old daughter for a normal day at kindergarten, but was called to pick her up at the police station.
According to police, Salecia Johnson threw a tantrum at school and she knocked over a shelf that struck the principal of Creekside Elementary School in Milledgeville.
The girl then went on to throw objects and ripped things off the classroom walls before police were called to the school.
The girl’s parents, Earnest Johnson and Candace Ruff, said that the school should have found an alternative solution rather than involving the police.
Police said that an officer tried to calm the child down, but when she resisted, she was handcuffed and taken to the police station.
In addition to her trip to the police station, Salecia was suspended from school for a few weeks.
She was charged with simple assault and property damage, but she will not have to go to court because of her age.
