(Scroll down for video) A grandmother is behind bars after she committed a robbery while her grandkids were waiting in her car.
Pastor Benny Holmes of Baytown, Texas, was fed up when several packages went missing from his front porch over a period of time.
He decided to take matters into his own hands and lure the thief to his home. The pastor and his wife placed two boxes on their porch, and the pastor sat by the window of his home waiting for the package thief.
He did not have to wait long. 52-year-old Laurie Ferguson stopped in front of his home and was caught stealing the packages.
Pastor Holmes was seen on video bolting through his front door with a gun in his hand. He ordered Ferguson to get on the ground and she complied.
When police arrived to the house, Holmes was holding Ferguson at gunpoint. Officers found the woman’s two young grandchildren in the car.
Officers found that Ferguson had stolen packages from other people in the neighborhood. Police found at least 30 stolen items in a closet in her home.
Holmes will not be charged for pointing his gun at the woman. “Here in Texas, you’re allowed to protect your property,” Police Detective Luzette Watkins said.
Ferguson was arrested and was later released after posting bond.
