Two people were hospitalized with stab wounds after two women fought over chocolate chip cookies, police in California said.
The Los Angeles Police Department said that one man suffered serious stab wounds on Thursday, while trying to break up a fight between the two women who fought over the cookies.
The incident unfolded just after 8:00 p.m., in a house located on Raymond Avenue near Woodbury Road. The 22-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen.
The man was said to be in stable condition at a hospital on Friday. A 19-year-old woman suffered moderate injuries including stab wounds to her face during the incident.
Meanwhile, 43-year-old Shandra Easterling of Pasadena, was booked into jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Easterling and the younger woman became involved in an argument after one of them asked for the cookies the other had.
The argument turned into a violent fight. Easterling was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
