A teen was sentenced to a long prison term for raping a young boy.

18-year-old Lvnia Mundoza of Harare, Zimbabwe, sexually abused an 11-year-old boy after offering him a place for the night.

Magistrate Temba Kuwanda ruled that Mundoza will serve at least six years behind bars before she can be released on condition of good behavior.

The incident began when the 11-year-old boy had sold his father’s Kapenta fish without his permission. The father became angry.

The court heard that when the child’s father confronted him, he ran out of the house and met his 18-year-old neighbor who offered to protect him.

The court heard that Mundoza, who lives close to the boy’s home, invited the child into her parents’ home and offered him a room for the night.

Unaware of the impending sexual abuse, the child accepted the offer and slept in the neighbor’s house. During the night, Mundoza awoke, went into the room where the child was sleeping and forcefully had sex with him without consent.

The sex abuse was discovered after the child suffered abdominal pain due to a sexually transmitted disease, prompting him to spill the beans and leading to the arrest of his teenage assailant.

Magistrate Kuwanda lashed out at Mundoza for risking the boy’s life by exposing him to the dangers of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, all in an attempt to satisfy her own sexual desire.
