(Scroll down for video) An 11-year-old girl was sleeping at her grandparents’ home when she heard a commotion.
The girl’s grandparents of Texas, were attacked by four armed men. The men were not looking for cash or jewelry, but weapons.
Police are now searching for the group of violent robbers, who beat a couple in their home northwest of Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, the four men broke into the home in the 1900 block of Woodvine about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Police believe that at least one of the suspects may be a friend of the homeowner’s son. According to police, the thieves knew that the son of the homeowner had a safe with guns inside and they demanded the homeowners open the safe.
When the couple would not hand over the code to the safe, they pistol whipped the homeowner and his wife.
While the men were shouting to her grandparents, the 11-year-old girl was in her room and called for help.
By the time the police arrived, the suspects were gone. The grandparents were taken to a hospital where they were treated and released. They are said to be in good condition, but were very shaken by the incident.
The 11-year-old girl was praised for her bravery.
