The man accused of killing the pregnant woman in a southwest Houston nightclub, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
23-year-old Osvaldo Fernandez-Aguilar pleaded guilty to capital murder for killing an innocent woman while trying to rob the night club.
27-year-old Maria Lucrecia was a married woman, a mother of a 6-year-old boy and pregnant with her second child, a girl.
She worked as a janitor for the Eclipse Gentleman’s Club, when Fernandez-Aguilar came inside to steal money. Fernandez-Aguilar, who was fired from that nightclub a short time before the incident, said that he did not expect anyone to be there at the time.
Fernandez-Aguilar strangled the woman before taking about $1,000 from the cash register.
When Lucrecia failed to return home and she did not answer her phone, her husband, German Castro, called the club manager and together the went to look for her. Sadly, they found Lucrecia laying on the ground. She was already dead.
Authorities in the United States tracked Fernandez-Aguilar to Cancun, Mexico. Police in Mexico, arrested him as he was about to travel to Cuba.
