Brooklyn Police said that 21-year-old Joseph Rushford, was caught red-handed stealing copper wire from the private house located at 1675 50th Street.
The incident began when police received a call about suspicious activity at the house. When police arrived at the scene they found that one of the windows was broken.

Earlier this month, a Borough Park area man was robbed after he refused to purchase drugs from a man who posed as a police officer, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that three men approached the victim, beat him and stole his phone when he tried to call the police on them at the corner of New Utrecht Avenue and 74th Street.
The incident began when the three men approached the victim just after 5:00 a.m., and one of them tried to sell cocaine. When the victim refused, one of the suspects identified himself as a police detective.
When the victim called 911, the three beat him, took his phone and then fled from the scene. Police launched an investigation into the incident, but so far, no arrests have been made.
